As a non-traditional law student, Mrs. Brown worked full time as an Attorney Assistant Supervisor at the Office of the Public Defender while attending law school. After graduating, Mrs. Brown began her legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Superior Court of New Jersey- Essex County Vicinage in the Criminal Division under the Honorable James L. Jukes, J.S.C. She then took a role as a Special Deputy Attorney General/Acting Assistant Prosecutor in Essex County where she worked in the Juvenile Unit. Mrs. Brown is the founder and CEO of the Law Office of Donnette A. Brown, LLC. Her firm specializes in family law, criminal law, and landlord tenant. Mrs. Brown is also the CEO/Founder of Alexis Rose Affairs where she coordinates and plan high end events.

In addition to her works, Mrs. Brown is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and serves as the co-chair of the Community Service Committee. In her role as co-chair she is an active servant in the community at large.
